Hey guys, Icarus here.
Sorry about yesterday! I was away for the day yet again, but I’ll still be posting!
Today, I thought I’d take a little break from the “encouraging you build your own computer” to a more “what’s inside a pre-built computer” perspective.
Recently, there were rumors around that NVidia was going to release 40nm GPUs, the GT210 and GT220, both being released to put up a fight against ATI’s HD4830 and HD 4860 GPUs.
Well, they’ve finally done it; the two GPUs are finally out.
However, from my POV as a computer builder, it does NOT MATTER AT ALL.
These two 40nm GPUs, the GT210 and GT220, are OEM GPUs released by NVidia to computer companies(Dell, HP, Gateway, and a few others) to put in their pre-built computers.
Now, it’s too early to tell how they will do, but depending on the results of these two GPUs, we can somewhat predict how the independent GPUs that we can use to build our computers will do in the near future.
The rest of the 40nm GPUs, the rumored GT300 series, are supposed to come out later this year, and I’m DEFINITELY looking forward to benchmarking these babies!
However, the bad news is, that they’ve had some technical issues, and had to delay their original September release date. We will have to see how much of a delay this really is. Who knows, maybe they’ll release their GT300’s on time for us to drool over.
Well, that’s all I got for today! Hope you enjoyed my article!
Oh, and don’t forget to comment and subscribe!!! I’m always open to criticism, further analysis, and suggestions on what new hardware you want me to review!! I am planning to make written reviews AND video reviews, so stay tuned for more!
Cheers!!
