Step 1: Why Build Your PC?

Posted in: PC |

Hey guys, Icarus here!!

I’m going to start off this series with one simple question: why build your PC?

Well, let’s think about this for a second. If you build your own:

1. You will be your own technical difficulties expert

2. You will know your computer inside and out

3. You will know many things about your computer that you’ve never thought of

4. You will have fun!

So, let’s say you’re still not convinced. I’m just going to assume that you have a pre-built PC from a well-known brand. If it breaks down, what’re you going to do?

1. Call technical assistance and hope they pick up

2. Ask a friend and hope he or she fixes your problem without blowing up or damaging your computer

3. Hope you don’t erupt from impatience

4. Send your computer to the company and hope you get it back in a few weeks

You see, building a computer saves you time, gets you tech-savvy, and you have loads of fun!

Building a computer is one of those things that people think is extremely difficult to do. But it’s not so hard! Once you get the ball rolling, you start to get into it: go onto forums, sign up for magazines and newsletters, go on websites for the latest tech, the list goes on and on.

So the point here is that it’s awesome, fun, educational, and definitely worth the time!!!

Once you’re convinced that you want to try building your own computer, try looking inside the desktop PC you have now. Take a screw driver, take a few screws off of the side panel, and open it. I’m betting there’ll be a few dust bunnies, clumps of wire, and PC parts you’ve never seen before.

It’s ok if you don’t know which object is what component, because there’s a first time for everyone. And I hope that you start thinking about building your PC too!

Well, that’s all I have for today. Hope you enjoyed my post!

Stay tuned for more, because this series is going to continue!! For those of you who still want the news and my opinion on the latest tech, still come back, because I will still be making posts on those too!

And make sure to comment and subscribe!! I’m open to criticism, further analysis, and suggestions on what new hardware you want me to review!!

Cheers!

This and the “Guide to a Successful PC build” are great! Any chance you could write one along the lines of “Building Earth-eating 3d workstations… dirt cheap”? Ha! Now THAT would be awesome!

    2. Icarus Says:

      Haha thanks!

I could do that, maybe not the “Earth-eating” part though… haha. I could help you plan out a workstation computer. Just email me through the “Contact Icarus” tab at the top of the page!

      Cheers!
