AMD Fusion: Where are youuu???
Hey guys, Icarus here!
So, I’ve talked about Intel’s platform for combining a CPU and a GPU on the same silicon for notebooks and hopefully desktops later, but I haven’t talked much about AMD’s version of it, so here we go!
AMD, back in 2006, bought ATI for this specific reason: to combine a CPU and a GPU onto the same chip.
So basically, they’ve been working on this project called “AMD Fusion” since 2006. Just from the name, it’s obvious that they’re trying to combine some things here.
However, I’ve been reading up recently, and heard that the AMD Fusion won’t be out until late 2010.
So here’s my message to AMD: if you’re going to announce it years ahead of time, why delay it even longer? We’re waiting on you!
While Intel’s Arrandale gCPU(cGPU? I don’t know hahaha) is going according to schedule and eagerly awaiting its release, AMD is still way back in time, trying to work as fast and efficiently as possible. I guess sometimes that isn’t enough.
AMD, if you don’t hurry up, you’re going to lose a major share of the market to Intel just from the delay!
Anyways, that’s all for this post! Hope it helped you get to know more about AMD, and hope you enjoyed it!

Cheers!
